This is a big question and it was not an easy decision to choose a cash-pay model, with a sliding scale / reduced scale model.
First and foremost – we understand the frustration. However, insurance companies have implemented significant policy changes around mental health care reimbursement, which has impacted our decision not to accept insurance.
Currently, clinicians are experiencing decreased reimbursement rates and increased claim denials and callbacks, which requires substantial time to track down reimbursement, preventing clinicians from focusing on you. Additionally, insurance parameters impact treatment by dictating the length and type of covered treatment interventions, and potentially requires a diagnosis and/documentation which may impact you and/or your child in the future.
We could continue to expand on this topic, but for the sake of brevity, we have chosen a cash pay / sliding scale model in order to provide you with the quality of care that aligns with our treatment philosophy and values, allowing us to focus on the care that you deserve.
